The moving truck rental company that you choose, is about to lease you a very large and expensive piece of equipment. They will need to have some assurance that you are responsible, both financially and otherwise.

- A credit card is very helpful when renting a moving truck. It is not a necessity, but it will make the whole process easier.
If you do not want to use a credit card, most truck rental companies will accept cash. For a cash transaction, you will need a few extra forms of assurance such as:
- Relatives names addresses and phone numbers.
- Possibly your banking information.
- Proof that you reside at the address given on the form, such as utility bills.
Most moving truck companies have computerized the rental process, which is a double edged sword. Some of the systems can be a bit slow and tedious, depending partially on connection speed, but they are almost foolproof.
